Prehistoric Rhinoceros Sculpture

This earthenware sculpture of a prehistoric rhinoceros is crafted in a white clay containing kaolin. After modeling by hand and drying, the clay solidifies and looks like white marble and is then sanded for smoothness and fired to make it resistant. As a finish, the piece is colored with a green washable water-based paint and displayed on a chestnut base.
